General Rules
To Keep Everyone Safe

All toys/activities are to be shared by everyone

Children must inform ‘Ala’ or any adult assisting her before going to the washroom/anywhere out of her direct line of sight

Kind hands to be used at all times

Always use kind words and language

Camp Ala takes place in the walkout basement and the backyard; children must stay within permitted areas at all times
Safety in the
Treehouse
-
1 child on the ladder up to the treehouse at a time
-
The slide must be used to descend from the treehouse
-
Shoes must be worn at all times in the treehouse


Safety in the
House
-
Indoor voices must ALWAYS be used inside the house
-
No running in the house
Safety on the
Trampoline
-
3 children maximum on the trampoline at any one time
-
Trampoline zipper must be closed before bouncing can begin
-
Children must remain inside the netting when on the trampoline

Safety in and around
The Pool

-
All Children must complete a swim test on the first day they attend camp for the Summer
-
The pool is fully fenced, separate from the rest of the yard. The pool gate will be locked when not in use.

Children are not allowed in the pool area without an adult present (the gate will be locked)

Children must stay in the shallow end of the pool unless there are 3 or fewer children in attendance for that day, OR a second adult is inside the pool fence to assist ‘Ala’ in supervising the children in the pool

Children who are not proficient swimmers must wear a life jacket or personal flotation device (“PFD”) to be provided by the child’s parent on the child’s first day of attendance. The child’s parent shall be responsible for determining what PFD device is appropriate for their child.

No running on the pool deck

No roughhousing in the pool

No diving in the shallow end
-
No eating or drinking in the pool
